Krista M. Pine, MD is a licensed physician in the states of North Carolina and California.   Dr. Pine received her bachelors degree in psychology from The University Of Southern California in Los Angeles.  She graduated magna cum laude and initiated into the national honor society - phi beta kappa.  She completed her medical education at The University of Southern California School of Medicine and received her medical degree with honors.  While in medical school, Dr. Pine was the president of the American Medical Student Association and conducted research on the possible associations of trauma during pregnancy, and schizophrenia.  After completing medical school, Dr Pine did a four year residency in general psychiatry at The University of California at Irvine and completed her psychiatric training under some of the most well respected physicians in the world.  While there, she spent two years researching  adolescent and adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and presented her research in grand rounds to both primary care physicians and psychiatrists.  Dr. Pine has been in private practice since completing her residency training. She is currently practicing in Raleigh and plans to open another practice in Wake Forest.  She has a special interest in women’s mental health and has written several articles on such topics as coping with infertility, postpartum depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and mood changes during pregnancy.  She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, The Christian Medical and Dental Association, The North Carolina Psychiatric Association, The American Psychiatric Association, and the North Carolina Medical Society.
